If A Hat Could Speak

We often take a second look when we see a lady donning a flattering hat!  Culturally speaking, a hat can be seen as a sign of respect and elegance as well as status and wealth.  Examples: The Royal Women of Windsor, the fashionable Kentucky Derby, and let’s not forget Hollywood’s noted film, “My Fair Lady” starring Audrey Hepburn . . . or, back in the day, the flamboyant Hedda Hopper!

Nevertheless, if we’re honest, we immediately establish a first impression, don’t we?  Yet, without even a word being spoken, a hat makes a statement of its own without ever having to offer an explanation or a defense.  Somehow, her hat sheds light on her character as well as her disposition regardless of her culture!

Personally, I love seeing a lady emerging on the scene wearing an elegant hat or even sporting a sassy one.  Her courage and confidence are revealed, bringing clarity to her mission.  She’s serious, she’s steadfast, she’s persistent, and she’s determined. Some would say, she’s somewhat close to having chutzpah; but she’s noticeably not arrogant, as the Yiddish terminology would imply.

This lady knows she is a woman!  She’s emotionally intelligent, yet wears her womanhood well because of her deep faith in the Lord Jesus.  She’s failed, she’s recovered, she is self-aware and a good judge of character; she has learned to neutralize toxic people and she sees things from the perspective of others, and best of all, she’s congenial and holds no grudges.

This lady has learned some of life’s most valuable lessons and doesn’t want you to miss yours!  She’s on a mission to help you recognize your strengths, as well as your weaknesses . . . and YES, contrary to popular belief, both can be used in your favor.

Lastly, this lady is inviting you to join a team of extraordinary women, and even though Laurel Thatcher Ulrich proclaims “well-behaved women seldom make history” . . . I believe well-behaved women should make history.

Are you ready to make history?  Stay tuned!
