What Is A Woman . . . of Noble Character?

Charm can be deceptive and physical beauty will not last . . . but, a woman who reverences the Lord should be praised above all others.
— Proverbs 31:30 . . . The Voice

How does one woman incorporate so much?

She’s not one woman . . . she’s all of us!

Her Worth is far above Jewels . . .

In a time when most women were not taken seriously apart from child-bearing, the writer of this particular proverb dared to present a picture of a woman as a glorious, vibrant, competent and intelligent creation of God. This imagery is relevant today as we recognize and celebrate her in ourselves and in our sisters . . .

Strength and Dignity are her Clothing . . .

She shops for quality to find the best buys. She contributes clothing and food to those in need. She gives parties and rocks new-born babes. She cares for the elderly and opens her home for hospitality.  She is lovely and makes the best of what she has in her appearance and her nest.

How does one Woman do so much?

She’s all of us!

No job is too challenging or too trivial.  She shows up on time, pays attention, and does her best in her workplace and in her home.  She cleans commodes and sets a beautiful table. She balances budgets and debugs computers. She sets goals and plans agendas – she manages her time well.  She runs a business or owns it. She prays and encourages and shares her insights and strengths with others.  She is prudent and disciplined . . .

. . . and, She Laughs without Fear of the Future.

A woman of noble character wears many faces and fills many roles – roles that can change with the seasons of her life.  She is creative and fills her day and her calendar with activities.  She does lunch and she does life.

She Opens Her Mouth with Wisdom . . . and,

the Teaching of Kindness is on Her Tongue.

This woman draws her strength from the Lord and lays down her life for those she loves.  Her reward?   Her family adores her – her company is cherished – her judgment is trusted – her faithfulness and loyalty is renowned.   She will be remembered long after she is gone as a woman who sought the Lord first of all.

Women of Noble Character make History!

Let another praise you . . . Proverbs 27:2
